Caroline Rhett’s debut album “Stirring Rainbows” is available at Wonder Works beginning Feb. 18
Owner Christine Osborne will donate a portion of the album proceeds to Pet Helpers
Wonder Works toy stores owner, Christine Osborne announced her stores will carry the debut album of 11-year-old singer-songwriter and Mt. Pleasant local Caroline Rhett, also known as “Karoline.” Record label Moonwatcher Music will release the album on March 13, but Wonder Works will have the album in its West Ashley and Mt. Pleasant stores starting Feb. 18. With help from Grammy nominated guitarist Joe Taylor, the Mt. Pleasant preteen recorded and co-wrote three songs of the album’s 10 song collection. A portion of the album’s proceeds at Wonder Works will benefit local organization Pet Helpers.
“Karoline is a very impressive young girl full of passion for her music. Her songs are really fun and sung with such a powerful voice,” said Osborne. “We’re so excited to carry her album at Wonder Works and support her growing music career.”
Karoline’s music career started when she was just 3-years-old at Charleston festivals, competitions, talent shows and sang the National Anthem at professional sporting events. Karoline has also worked with voice coach Nancy Stedman, a Charleston local and Broadway performer. She and Taylor began recording “Stirring Rainbows” in 2010. Karoline recently traveled to Los Angeles for work developing her live show with choreographer Matt Steffanina, who has also worked with artists such as Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg and LMFAO.
Wonder Works will next feature Karoline as this year’s headliner for the second annual Wonderfest on June 2, 2012. Last year Karoline performed for the 2,000 guests at the free family summer kick-off event, which featured hot summer toys, local musical acts, video games, food, activities, child entrepreneurs and pet adoptions. Wonder Works donated $2,000 from its day sales to the event’s select charity, Abby’s Friends. For more details, visit www.wonderworkscharleston.com.
